The power of Prayer!

Well just when I thought this summer was going to go by like any other summer, I was wrong. We have a new hurdle in front of us. Brian is going to be having outpatient surgery tomorrow. They will be removing (warning, personal info) his left testicle. The doctor found a mass that he is concerned about. They will dissect this mass to see what it is. There are many possibilities, benign to malignant.
We ask for tons of prayer. Neither of us are too worried, in fact we are at peace. The boys know what is going on. I know what ever happens we will be okay. We won't know what it is until next week sometime.
PRAY PRAY PRAY!!!!

Summer so far...

I can't believe June is almost over. Where has the time gone? Well let's see what has happened so far...

Well, since school has ended for everyone...

Memorial Day weekend we went to Deborah's house and had a cookout. We did a lot of swimming and just hanging out with good friends. Poor Steven got so burnt. It didn't slow him down any. At the end of the night we set off a few fireworks. It was an awesome day.

Steven had his day camp for scouts the first week of June. He seemed to really enjoy it. He went from 8-4 every day that week. It was CSI themed. They did all sorts of physical stuff, as well as investigating. They had to solve a problem each day. They found clues throughout the day and then there den solved the problem at the end of the day. He also got to work with tools. He built Brian a tool box by himself. Of course his favorite part was when they got to examine Owl throw up and found all sorts of bones. Then they guessed what kind of animal that was eaten. HOW COMPLETELY GROSS. But you know he's a boy and had fun so I guess that is all that matters. It took the whole next week to get all the red from the clay off of him.

During the week I stayed at home getting my house in order. Didn't get too much done because I was enjoying playing with Matthew and Kendall. Matthew was missing his "bruder" (this is what he calls Steven, he will not call him by name, it is so cute). He did get the XBOX to himself all day and he loved that. I did take them to my friend Dana's pool until it was time to leave and pick Steven up on Friday. I was able to get away for an evening with some girls. We went to a local tavern and had a Mom's Night Out. It was nice.

The second week was spent mostly at home and outside. I took the kids to a friend's neighborhood pool. It was a nice day. I spent the latter part of the week getting ready for VBS at our church.

The third week was our church's VBS. The theme was "Outrigger Island." Brian took off work to help teach 2nd grade. He loves doing this. This year Steven was in his class. I was the assistant director. I over saw the preschool part and tried to make sure our teenage helpers had places to be. It was a great week. There were TONS of kids and they all had such smiles all week, so did the adults.

Since Brian was home, we tried to use that to our advantage. We took the boys to Six Flags for the first time. Well to our surprise we have two roller coaster lovers. They went on most of the coasters. The park closed earlier than we had expected so they didn't get a chance to ride 3 of them. We WILL go back soon to try those. I am so excited we can all do that as a family. Hopefully in a few years we can bring Kendall with us. We tried to get to White Water, but that didn't happen. We had a lot of family time together and it was nice.

Well that catches us up to now. We haven't really done too much. We went to see my sister-in-law and her husband's new house. Yeah, they are homeowners again. I am making a cake for my nephew, Jackson's birthday party that is on Saturday.

Well that is about it for now. Hopefully since I am home more I will update more often. Sorry for the novel. So now for what you really come for =), the pictures. It is long, but check back often, cause I will add to it. ENJOY!!
