Our summer in review

Okay so I know I should have posted this a while ago, but I have honestly been in a "rut" with blogging lately. I have had time to check everyone else's out, just not really taken the time to write. So here goes....

  • June...
We all know that we had a WONDERFUL vacation in Folly Beach, SC. I love the beach as do the kids and I can't wait to go back. Honestly I think I could live there and not get tired of it.

I mean how can you get tired of that?!?!?!

The place where the idea of our vacation started here...

You see we started everything off with one of Brian's cousin's wedding which was held in Charleston. The groom proposed to her there.

We spent time with family and the sun, sand, and water.

Brian and I went on a few dates...get this...WITHOUT kids!! Thank you Nana and Aunt "Sue Sue" (that's what Kendall calls her)

We played in fountains in Charleston!!

We ate at some great restaurants and met some family that live around there for dinner too.

We enjoyed the local wildlife =)

So overall we had a wonderful trip.

Well you would think that that would have been enough for June...but oh no.
Steven had his Cub Scout Day camp during the week following our vacation. Kendall, Matthew and I didn't just sit around at home, we went swimming most days.

  • July
A big thing happened on July 1st...Brian is 1 year cancer free!! Can I get an AMEN!
For the 4th of July we went to a friend's house where she had a huge pool party. There were jumpy things and later in the evening we saw some fireworks.

In July Steven and Brian went to Webelo Encampment for 4 days. They had a blast. Matthew was a little bummed that he didn't get to go on this "camp out".
During the summer we went to a couple birthday parties, and we did lots of swimming. I was so sad to see this summer come to an end. I really enjoyed this summer with the kids. A lot of years I am counting down the days til school starts, but this year I was dreading it as much as they were. This year I got two kids off to "big school" (Matthew's term). That's right, Matthew started Kindergarten!! Steven is in "upper" elementary school this year, 4th grade. Kendall will start 2 year pre-k this year, and I am teaching 3 year pre-k this year. It will really be a change from my two year olds that I am so used to having. I think it will be a good change though. I will save the boy's first day of school pics for next week, for the I Heart Faces challenge. If you have made it this far into the post I want to thank you. For your reward, I will end on a bunch of other random pics from birthday parties to swimming and hanging out with friends. I hope you guys had just as great of a summer as we had.
